If you’re familiar with My Next Life as a Villainess<\/em> (Hamefura), you already know the premise. Katarina Claes is reincarnated as the villainess of an otome game, destined for a terrible future. Her solution? Avoid every bad ending by staying as far away from the main plot as possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Naturally, she accidentally becomes the center of everyone’s attention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now imagine taking that same Katarina… and dropping her into the Marvel Cinematic Universe as a female version of Victor von Doom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That is exactly what this fanfic does.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The result is one of the funniest crossover comedies I have ever read.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unlike the original Doctor Doom, Katarina has absolutely no interest in world domination. She would much rather spend her days relaxing on Reed Richards’ couch, enjoying an easy life with her best friend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unfortunately for her, everyone keeps interpreting her actions as those of a brilliant mastermind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Watching Katarina unintentionally rise from carefree couch potato to the ruler of Latveria is hilarious. Every decision she makes with the best of intentions somehow pushes her further into the role of the legendary Doctor Doom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Much of the comedy comes from Katarina’s wonderfully oblivious personality and her complete inability to understand what everyone around her actually means. The misunderstandings continue to snowball, creating increasingly ridiculous situations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As with many stories inspired by anime and manga, the humor occasionally ventures into territory that may feel a little more risqu\u00e9 than Western audiences are used to. There are no explicit scenes, but there are a few suggestive jokes and implications, so it is worth keeping that in mind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The story is currently ongoing. Although it has been around two years since the last update, several story arcs reach satisfying conclusions, making it well worth reading even in its current state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lighthearted, funny, and endlessly entertaining, this is an excellent choice whenever you’re looking for something that will simply make you smile.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
